A high-tech start-up that intends to grow needs access to technology partners, an active network, knowledge and financial resources.
From autumn 2024, start-ups from the fields of robotics, sensor technology, IoT, semiconductors and quantum technology will have access to these resources and first-class individual support on their way to successful scaling in the newly founded Dresden high-tech accelerator ExciteLab. As a Premium Partner, white ip is supporting the Accelerator right from the very beginning.
The ExciteLab is a collaboration between SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator with TU Dresden and TUDAG, and thus part of the Spinlab Group. According to the Financial Times, this is one of the leading start-up hubs in Europe, with SpinLab taking second place in Germany. Moreover, independent studies by UBI Global and TheEuropas have twice rated it as one of the best startup accelerators in Europe.
The Leipzig SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator was founded in 2014 by Eric Weber together with the Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei, the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management and MIB AG and focusses on supporting start-ups in the eHealth, energy and smart city sectors.
In 2020, the range was expanded with the founding of the RootCamp in Hanover. Start-ups from the AgriTech and bioeconomy sectors are supported there. The Spinlab ecosystem also includes Smart Infrastructure Ventures, the Smart Infrastructure Hub Leipzig and Bitroad.
In the start-up acceleration programmes, selected start-ups benefit from the large network of partner companies, mentors, investors and other stakeholders with the opportunity to initiate collaborations and pilot projects as well as an increased market presence. The support, which is intended to accelerate the development and growth of the companies, is both financial and in terms of content and includes individual mentoring, a structured programme for further development, simplified participation in industry events and 6,000 euros in free funding. Unlike other programmes, no shares or ownership rights are demanded in return for access.
With the ExciteLab, the successful model is now also coming to Dresden. Alongside the ExciteLab team around Alexander Türpe, many experienced local partners are also available to support the selected teams in the development of their companies.
As white ip, we are delighted to have been a partner right from the start and to be working together with the Technische Universität Dresden, TUDAG TU Dresden Aktiengesellschaft, VON ARDENNE, Infineon Technologies, SAP, Forvis Mazars Group, ZEISS Digital Innovation and Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen to advance the startup ecosystem in Dresden and support it with our expertise and experience in the areas of innovation, intellectual property, technology assessment, knowledge transfer and commercial law.
The application closing date for the first group of the six-month ExciteLab Dresden Accelerator programme is in August 2024.
The programme starts next October and will take place as a hybrid learning and training programme both on site in Dresden and online.
